SNP ANNOUNCE SPECIALIST FRAILTY SERVICES IN NHS GREATER GLASGOW & CLYDE
The SNP Government is taking real action to support older people and protect Scotland’s NHS over winter, with specialist frailty services now in every NHS Board, including Greater Glasgow and Clyde, improving care and easing hospital pressures.
This is a nationwide initiative delivered by the SNP to improve care for older and vulnerable patients from the moment they arrive at hospital.
Patients in Inverclyde are getting faster treatment, shorter stays, and safer discharges thanks to this SNP initiative. These specialist frailty services will be in emergency departments and are backed by £200 million investment by the SNP Government.

“Across the country and in Inverclyde, specialist frailty teams are helping older patients get the right care, in the right place, at the right time. That means shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery, and more people able to return home safely.
“As winter pressures build, the SNP is standing firm in its commitment to support older people, protect the NHS, and deliver a health service based on need and not ability to pay – unlike Labour who are focused on profit and political posturing.
“With GP numbers up, and waiting times down, and now specialist frailty services, the SNP under John Swinney is delivering for Scotland’s NHS.”
